Heating and Cooling for Less!

Heating and Cooling for Less! Heating and Cooling for Less! Heating and Cooling for Less!

Service & Warranty

Today’s heat pump systems are built to last 20–25 years when they’re properly cared for. Just ask ChatGPT! Even better, you don’t need an expensive third-party annual maintenance plan to achieve that lifespan. In fact, you can handle the three most important maintenance tasks yourself in just a few minutes twice a year:

  1. Keep the outdoor unit free of obstructions.
Proper airflow is essential—it’s the number one factor in heat pump performance and longevity.

  2. Keep the outdoor unit clean.
A simple rinse with a garden hose (light pressure only) on both the exterior and interior surfaces is all that’s needed.

  3. Clean the indoor air filters regularly.
Most filters slide out easily, can be rinsed clean, and reinstalled in moments.

  4. Ensure the refrigerant charge is correct.
Fortunately, this is the easiest of all. Modern systems monitor refrigerant levels and will alert you if there’s an issue.

Because these tasks are simple and homeowners often prefer to do them on their own, we don’t typically offer a traditional maintenance agreement. That said, if you’d like us to perform these maintenance items for you, we’re always happy to help.

As for extended warranties, they aren't as essential as they once were. Today’s heat pumps routinely last up to 25 years with basic cleaning, and extended warranties often add unnecessary cost—either bundled into a higher installation price or sold as an add-on.

What you do get with us:
Depending on the model, you’ll receive 3–5 years of parts and labor coverage from the date of installation. In reality, the first few months are the most important because that’s when any rare manufacturing defects typically show up—and you’re fully covered during that period.

As the owner of this company, I can personally vouch for the durability of these systems. I installed my own heat pump in 2014 and haven’t had a single issue.

Bottom line:
Annual maintenance plans and extended warranties can have value in limited situations, but more often they’re simply revenue generators for HVAC companies rather than necessities for homeowners.
