No Lemon/Full Replacement Guarantee — Contractor Provided (1-year)
AffordableAC warrants that the system installed under this Agreement will perform in a manner consistent with a new system for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of substantial completion. If, during this period, the system fails to operate as intended due to a verified manufacturer defect or an installation defect attributable to AffordableAC, AffordableAC will, at its sole cost and expense, remove and replace the entire system with a new, functionally equivalent system. This full replacement remedy shall be provided in lieu of repair of individual components and at no additional cost to the homeowner.
Warranty Coverage Summary (Equipment Dependent)
Depending on the specific equipment installed, manufacturer warranty coverage may include up to a seven (7) year compressor warranty and a five (5) year parts warranty provided by the manufacturer. In addition, a five (5) year third-party labor and parts protection plan may be provided, subject to the terms and conditions of the issuing provider.
All applicable manufacturer warranties and third-party protection plans are transferable to a subsequent homeowner in the event of sale or transfer of the property, subject to the respective manufacturer’s or provider’s transfer procedures, eligibility requirements, and any applicable fees.
Optional Extended Coverage (Beyond 5 Years)
Modern heat pumps are engineered to last up to 25 years with basic maintenance, meaning extended warranties often go unused. Although we don't recommend, if you want coverage beyond 5 years, companies like American Home Shield or Liberty Home Guard offer yearly contracts that cover all your appliances (regardless of age) for a monthly fee.
Today’s heat pump systems are built to last 20–25 years when they’re properly cared for. Just ask ChatGPT! Even better, you don’t need an expensive third-party annual maintenance plan to achieve that lifespan. In fact, you can handle the three most important maintenance tasks yourself in just a few minutes twice a year:
Because these tasks are simple and homeowners often prefer to do them on their own, we don’t typically offer a traditional maintenance agreement. That said, if you’d like us to perform these maintenance items for you, we’re always happy to help.
Bottom line:
Annual maintenance plans and extended warranties beyond 5 years can have value in limited situations, but more often they’re simply a sales pitch and revenue generator for HVAC companies rather than necessities for homeowners.
